What an amazing find. A beautifull Japanese temple complex. Most of it was open 24 hours and at no charge. Apart from a couple of locals, we had the place to ourselves.

This stunning building houses three mikoshi (portable shrines). These are taken out for parades and ceremonies twice a year. Once each for the spring and autumn shrine festivals. Each shrine weighs just over a tonne and is carried by 20 people.
